One way backlinks is one of the best and most effective ways to get high positions in search engines and milk these positions for targeted traffic. But getting quality one way links is a big job.

Free Traffic System is a new project that helps you to get top quality one way links for free – unlimited number of one way links, because you build as many as you need. Moreover, Free Traffic System has integrated a brand new concept of viral marketing, rewarding its members with bonus one way links.

Before getting to the viral part of the project, it is important to explain where exactly you are getting these backlinks. The backlinks are built inside real blog posts, not in the footer or blogroll – in the very body of the real, unique blog post. This is the most safe way to build one way links, because you give real unique content to the visitors in the blog posts and search engines will always welcome it – search engines were created to help people in finding quality information in the Internet.

You get backlinks from relevant sites that belong to real people in different niches. Natural, safe and smart way to build backlinks for free. You submit one article to Free Traffic System and it converts into up to 60 top quality one way backlinks! And – unlike traditional article marketing – no one will delete your backlinks from the article, like they do when stealing your content from article directories.

The viral part of Free Traffic System is simple – they reward people for bringing others into this free project. You are receiving a BONUS backlink on every 3rd post that people whom you referred to Free Traffic System are making. This means you get bonus backlink on article No 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, etc. of all people who got into the system via the affiliate link.

As every article can be republished on up to 30 sites in Free Traffic System, this means that one article with your bonus link equals to 30 backlinks from Free Traffic System. 2 articles = 60 bonus backlinks, 3 articles = 90 bonus backlinks. And this is in addition to the unlimited backlinks that you can build inside Free Traffic System yourself.

And the final perk of the viral strategy. If you add at least one WordPress blog to Free Traffic System, they instantly increase the number of bonus backlinks by 7%.

So, in Free Traffic System you get:

- free backlinks that you build yourself
- viral bonus backlinks for affiliating people into the project
- viral bonus backlinks for adding your blog(s) to Free Traffic System

With this free backlink building power targeted traffic from search engines becomes just a matter of time.

We cover useful and practical easy to apply tips on improving your existing knowledge of outdoor, natural and wildlife photography skills in this special feature on click and shoot creatures for you – so stick around and enhance your sharp shooter skills right here, right now! After all, who knows when the travel bug may bite you next – and you find yourself in the middle of an adventure holiday destination with all the scope of putting together wildlife calendars, post-card materials and even the odd t-shirt print but for the want of matching photography techniques to capture the beauty of these wild beasts!

So, to avoid the disappointment of such a frustrating experience and to increase your scope for game-viewing and photography of a wild, untamed and thrilling outdoorsy moment made more memorable for the exciting natural backdrop it can be captured in, take a look at these exclusive wildlife photography tips – and you can bet your next camping trip won’t be the same again, what with so many types of photographs to click!!

There is no dearth of the type of outdoor photography you can aspire to choosing to do when out in the wilds: the range of natural, wildlife photography covers the varied purposes of professional photographers and even hobby photographers keen to commit to film and memory their tryst with the wild side of nature e.g. animals in their natural habitat. Some of the types of wildlife photography you can explore when out in the wilds, includes portraits (or head-shots) of animals, close-ups or zoom, focus of profiles, landscape and series photography (sort of like slow motion shots, very interesting, especially when you can capture one of the Big 5 moving in for the kill).

The greatest virtue that one needs to develop for perfecting the skills of outdoor, especially wildlife photography is patience; close on the heels of this is the need to work on using various kinds of photography equipment (e.g. light support, tripods, lens change etc.) while atop a tree/vantage point and also keep a cool head.

A very challenging and exciting vocation to choose, wildlife photography is fraught with dangers of being in the naked outdoors with little more than a camera to shoot great moments and also risk being exposed to tropical diseases or unfriendly weather conditions if traveling beyond known territories of one’s homeland.

You will need to learn how to use a telephoto lens as many a time, an animal will not walk near you and in the beginner stages, a wildlife photographer needs to learn to be comfortable in natural surroundings and not simply be fool-hardy in approaching an animal straight off as this gesture may be misinterpreted as a threat and the animal may attack you.

A good way to start on wildlife photography career is to begin with the more accessible animals like bears, fox, elk, wild rabbits etc. while keeping a safe distance as you don’t want to scare them away and yet capture them in their natural habitat.

Try using a high speed digital camera so you can assess and store the best shots including the agility of an animal in the wild as well as not miss out on any actions since digicams come equipped with various easy-use features like auto-focus, red-eye elimination and extra zoom etc. and their quick shutter speed helps one to take multiple shots as the animal in focus moves.

Learn techniques like panning (following the territory of the animal’s range of movement) outdoor lighting and placement of photography equipment so you can get close and take personal shots of the animals without drawing attention to yourself and always respect jungle laws to stay safe in the wilds.

Do you see a future for digital photography? Quite a radical question in the feeding frenzy of digital camera marketing. To me digital photography is the best thing that has ever happened to photography. But, what is its future? A difficult question to answer and possibly a loaded one.

Film photography was always known as just ’photography’, never film photography. It was the standard. With the emergence of digital photography this standard has been challenged. My question is, “will digital photography become the standard or will it remain the ugly sister of photography”?

I think that it will always remain the ‘poor cousin’ of film photography unless two things happen:

1. All digital cameras need to develop to the point that they are equivalent in quality to that of the most basic film camera. They must eradicate the digital vs film debate. There must be no difference between the two formats. The most expensive digital cameras are getting close to that standard but the point and shoot models cannot compete with their film counterparts. I think that with the pace of development, despite an economic crisis, Â consumers are demanding that lower end cameras need to improve in quality. Although, true photography is all about the SLR and I think we are on the road to the quality needed to compete with film cameras.

2. There is a mindset change that quantity is better than quality. Thought that went into taking a photograph with film has all but disappeared. The speed with which digital images are taken degrades the results of good photography. This is evidenced by the quality of images submitted to competitions, placed on forums and displayed on blogs. If this mindset changes and we start putting more thought into photography it does bode well for digital as an art form.

How do we change this so that digital is synonymous with photography? I personally think that the key is education and learning. In the same way that digital photography has changed the face of photography digital has changed the face of publishing.

Great learning material is available in electronic form as free education or reasonably priced education. It is now cheap and easy to learn about photography and the techniques of improvement. It doesn’t take an expensive course or diploma to radically improve your images. It’s as simple as buying an ebook or an electronic course. Many have money back guarantees so the risk is minimal. Easy to find and easy to learn. The key is to learn photography and not just digital photography.

When film photography was born it was perceived as an art and much care was exercised in the execution. It was birthed in and developed with this mindset and, linked to the costs involved, remained mostly as an art form. Even the masses exercised care in its practise.

But, with digital photography it is very different. What it has done is make the art form cheaper, simpler and faster. Whenever you add these three factors to anything in life, it opens the door to loss off technique, lower quality and diminished value. This is seen by the billions of electronic images that remain on DVDs, hard drives and memory cards, unappreciated and valueless.

It’s in this world that the art of photography has to find its place and raise its head again from the chaos of digital. Digital is the best thing since sliced bread.  The only question that now needs to be answered is will it rise to the occasion and become the new art form or will it be the vehicle that is responsible for the loss of a great art form?

Do you want to learn more about photography in a digital world? I’ve just completed a brand new e-course delivered by e-mail. Download it here for free: CLICK HERE. You can also learn to take perfect photos in 21 steps by taking a look at my new ebook 21 Steps 2 Perfect Photos.

The first thing that any budding photographer needs to learn are the fundamentals of photography starting with the basics. Get these under your belt quickly and you have already won half the battle. So, what needs to happen to get you going as a beginner with your first digital camera? Let’s take a look at my top seven.

1. Equipment

It’s not all about equipment. Don’t go rushing out to buy expensive equipment without knowing what you need. A keen sales person will sell you as far as your wallet or credit card will take you. Wait until you know what you need and what you like and match these desires with the right equipment.

2. Decide on the type of shots you’d like to shoot

A good idea is to browse the internet photo galleries, look in magazines or visit your local library to get an idea of what type of photo you really like. Try it out with your camera and see if you are able to, or, want to persevere until you can. Once you’ve made a list plan to go out and shoot on a regular basis. It’s practise that makes perfect. Stick to it until you master your genre. Only then start looking for the equipment to match your area of interest.

3. Decide on a structured learning plan

Find out what you’d like to learn and what you need to learn in order to shoot the type of photos that interest you. For example, macro and nature photography is a more specialised art form and there are a number of techniques and skills to learn, as well as equipment you’ll need to buy. Research it on the internet, read books and if possible take a course on macro or close up photography.

4. Take photos often

If you are not regularly shooting images you are not going to grow in your skills and abilities. Set yourself assignments based on what you are studying. Of course, in a structured course you will be given assignments. A photo a day keeps the creativity flowing and helps you to keep motivated. I did an assignment once taking a 100 photos of the same subject from a host of different angles. It gave my photography an unexpected boost.

5. Learn your camera’s settings

Getting to know your camera is paramount if you want to learn to take great photos and the best way to do this is by reading your manual. Like I should be telling you this. I am the last one who reads a manual. But, if you do it in a structured way you’ll be amazed at how quickly you get to know your camera. The way I did it was to go through the manual highlighting everything I already knew about it. Then I went back through the manual reading up on each section I didn’t know, practising as I went along. Once I got to know it I was amazed at how much more I could do with my camera. The key is to experiment.

6. Keep your camera with you

Take every opportunity to get a great shot. Whenever you see something that would make a great photo, shoot it. I have often wished that I had taken my camera with me and got an amazing shot. If you don’t have it with you, you won’t get the shot

7. Buy a tripod

Besides my camera, my tripod is the most important piece of kit in my equipment bag. There are shots you can only get if your camera is steady. The sharpness of your shots will improve dramatically. If the pros use them then why not the amateurs?

As you begin your photography journey, work at learning in a structured way so that the fundamentals of photography become second nature. Photography should be fun but your learning process needs to be serious. Happy shooting!

The key to photography is to be able to represent true life but also to emphasize the personality of the subject. Often times dull pictures kill the personality, but here are some advanced lighting tips to help you liven up your photographs.

1: Understanding Broad Lighting and Short Lighting

Broad lighting is when the main light is toward the side of the face that is facing towards the camera. It isn’t as popular as short lighting because of the flattening effect it has on the subject. Short lighting is when the main light illuminates the side of the face that is turned away from the camera. More of the details and contours of the face are emphasized this way and in addition it has a narrowing effect on the face.

2: Use Loop Lighting to Slim the Face

In loop lighting the main light is lowered and on the side of the subject which creates a loop on the side of the face away from the light. The fill light will be mounted at the camera and will not be bright enough to cast any shadows of it’s own.

3: Paramount Lighting Creates Dramatic Effects

Paramount lighting is known for it’s shadow beneath the nose that creates a butterfly-like shadow. It is primarily used on women and not so much on guys because of the shadows it cast on subjects with deeper set eyes. The main light is placed high and above the subjects face directly in front of the subject. The fill light is placed directly below the main light at the height of the subject’s head. It is wise to use a fill card to reflect light into the deep shadows that will appear on the neck and a hair light to illuminate the details of the subjects head.

4: Use Rembrandt Lighting Accentuate Masculine Portraits

In Rembrandt Lighting the main light is more to the side then the above 3 lighting techniques. The fill will be on the same axis as the camera and subject. The hair light will be moved close to the subject to accentuate the highlights of the hair. Use a standard background light. Kickers should be used to define the sides of the face. If everything is done right a a slight triangular shape should appear on the subjects shaded side of the face.

5: Split Lighting For More Slimming Effects

Split lighting will light up only one side of the face narrowing the face and nose. The key light can be all the way perpendicular to the subject or even slightly behind them. The fill light should be used as normal as well as the hair light and background light.

When placing lights be aware of your subject and be careful not to over light your subject. Adjust the lights and monitor the effects until you reach the ideal lighting situation. If you don’t shoot in a studio these lighting techniques are good to be aware of. Often times nature will provide similar lighting situations if you have the eye for it and a fill flash handy.

We can get a glimpse of fashion photography almost everywhere we look on TV, newspapers, internet and all media. Dazzling women with long legs and tanned skin scream for attention on news stands all over the place. It is the fashion photographer who is primarily responsible to bring those photographers to us, the everyday people. Unlike what one often imagines, there is more to fashion photography than a glitzy life style, fun and happening models. In fact there is a lot of planning involved behind every single fashion photograph that we see.

A name such as Mario Testino has become iconic in the realm of fashion photography. Did you know that photographers like him are just as sought after as the models that they photograph? At times the photographer is an even bigger celebrity than the model.

This profession may seem dream like to the young and enthusiastic photographer but it is not all about fun and glitz. It is not just about meeting the rich and the famous, the fat checks and the feeling of rock that goes with fashion photography. Did you know, for every one photographer that is successful, there are hundreds who are left looking for shoots for many years? Many give up after a few years while some do go on to become successful later on in life.

If you want to become a fashion photographer -

1. Learn the art well
There is no end to learning. Here is where many a youngster goes astray. they are so bothered about the style and the glamour associated with the fashion photographer, they concentrate more on looking right than shooting right. Know your photography so well that it comes naturally to you. Get books on the subject and read them to expand your knowledge of the subject.

2. Equipment
Next to the right knowledge comes the right equipment. Here is a hard truth – you cannot be a good fashion photographer unless you can afford expensive equipment. Cameras are not cheap, and you have new ones coming out every season. If you cannot afford to start off with a good camera and lighting system, your knowledge would go to waste.

3. The portfolio
The portfolio of a photographer is what finally lands the job. Make sure you have an impressive folio with your best work carefully selected. Choose the best 4 by 5 slide images you have. Some prefer to make prints. It is suggested – if you are discussing something with a photography pro, carry the slides. If it is a designer you are meeting the prints may be a better idea and more convenient for everyone.

4. Personality
Any editor is looking for original talent, so make sure you have a strong individual point of view. It is ok to be affected by another professional’s point of view, as long as you add or remove from it to make it unique and different. You need an identity!

You cant get great digital photographs five minutes after buying a new digital camera. Alot of people think that digital photography is easy but if it was then everyone would be doing it. But by knowing and remembering a few digital photography basics then you can get the great pictures that want.

Most people who are not accustomed to the art of digital photography will tell you that the camera is the most important thing. The more expensive the camera is the better, the more mega pixels the camera has the better or even the bigger the zoom the camera has the better. The camera doesn’t decide the viewpoint, the setting, the subject or even the mode in which you set the camera. Now, I will tell you about some digital photography basics that will help when taking pictures and will hopefully help you get the pictures that you want.

1. Get to know your camera

What most people will do when they buy a new digital camera is get home, open the box, flick through the manual and take a quick picture of the dining room table. Then they will turn the camera around, view the LCD screen and if there is an image on the screen then then the camera is working. They will then proceed to take all their pictures in auto mode and with the same flash setting for as long as they are let. If you are going to buy a digital camera and spend the money on it then you really should spend the time and find out how it works. Learning about the different modes and settings or how to control exposure in the camera can make a big difference in your photograph.

2. Control the flash

You should not always rely on the automatic flash to do the work for you. Depending on the shot or situation you are in, you can decide to turn on or off the flash. It’s very important to control the flash yourself as when used in the wrong situation the flash can cause glare or red-eye in pictures.

3. Hold the camera straight

This might seem like a simple thing to do but you would be surprised how many people get this wrong. Hold your camera level and steady when taking a picture this is very important. Use your LCD on the camera to line up the shot with another horizontal line in the frame. If your shooting outside maybe taking a picture of your wife or daughter then use can use something in the backgroung to judge if the camera is level, like a pole or window ledge.

By taking these very simple digital photography basics on board i hope they can in someway help you to achieving the great shots that you wanted. Remember anyone can take a great picture but it comes down to the person and not the camera.

Is ‘Proud Photography’ the best interactive online course? The answer should lie in those who have already used the program. If you have searched for feedback throughout the search engine network it will come up with a lot of positive reviews about proudphotography.com.

‘Proud Photography’ is an interactive online course which operates by a group of award-winning and professional photographers. One of them is Peter Tinko, the CEO of proudphotography.com, he designed the course specially for people who have no idea about photography and advance photographer who need to learn new skill and techniques. The program includes 13 interactive lessons that you can study at your pace, lessons are home-based study course. There is no need to travel and attend any class, as long as you turn on your computer and log into the website you can participate any activities which available.

The courses are guided by professional photographers who hold you by the hand and give you simple instruction to follow.
Stock Photography – Part 2

In an earlier article, Stock Photography – Part 1, I discussed the basics in getting started in business of stock photography. Deciding what topics or areas in which you what to specialize, and the requirements around performing commercial or editorial photography.

Here in Stock Photography – Part 2, I will cover how you may want to provide and control the use of your images, Royalty-Free (RF) or Rights-Managed (RM). Naturally, you want to make the most from your hard work and effort so make this decision wisely. RF and RM have many differences, be sure you understand the distinctions.

Should you decide that Royalty-Free is the route you prefer then here’s what you need to know. Unlike many professionals, I have no problem with RF licensing, long as you price the image properly. In the RF model, you will normally set the price by the size and resolution of the image. Small, low-res images which are used typically for websites are priced at the lowest rate. These images run in the sub-1MB range at 72 DPI, with longest side somewhere in the range of 6 inches. High-Resolution licenses will provide your customer with a image that is somewhere in the 8-20MB or larger at 300 DPI with the longest side being whatever your camera produces.

Royalty-Free licenses for stock images are normally used for commercial purposes and you will be required to produce the proper releases. Also be aware that when your client requests an RF license, they can basically use that image in any manner that they wish and can publish it as many times as they desire. As long as you understand that in essence you have lost a good deal of control and potential revenue from that image, then providing RF licenses is a good way to go.

Let’s take a look at a few pro’s and con’s of RF license.

Pro’s: With RF licenses you have the ability to re-license a stock image as many times and as often as you like. There are no exclusive rights issued, so a image could be used by several publications or people at the same time.

Con’s: Since you cannot provide any form of exclusivity with RF, the amount you can charge for a license is normally much less than what you can for a Rights-Managed license. So, as I indicated earlier, be sure that you price appropriately. Lack of image control is the main con for RF licenses. One other con, once you have decided that you are going to offer an image as RF then you cannot at a later date decide to make it Rights-Managed. How come? In most cases, RM licenses provide some form of exclusivity. Your client would rather upset if they paid you for rights to usage, then saw the image in another publication. Remember, in RF, anyone could have downloaded the image many months prior to use and can publish it as many times as they want.

Moving on to Rights-Managed licensing for stock images. Pricing is quite a bit different in this model. RM can be used for both commercial or editorial. Where RF is normally priced by image size, RM on the other hand is priced by type of usage and production run. You can provide special usage rights to your client, exclusive or non-exclusive, in the case of editorial usage a release may not be required. Typically, most professionals will use some form of RM calculator to determine the proper rate to charge for a license.

For a example, the rate you would charge for a publisher wanting to use an image exclusively for 6 months, ¼ page, with a production run of 50,000 would be much higher than a publisher having the same requirements with non-exclusive rights. Why? That image is now locked up and cannot be used by anyone else for 6 months.

This is the biggest difference between RF and RM, you have much more control in the manner in which your image is used and you can charge more for the license.

So, here’s the decision you will have to make, offer up your stock images at a lower cost via RF in hopes that you can license the image multiple times or be select on how the image can be used, charge more, but license less.

For the most part quantity does not always win out.

In the final two installments, I will be discussing workflow and how do you plan to go to market.

I love clothes. For me, clothing is a form of self-expression just like paint on a canvas is a form of expression for an artist. So, over the years I’ve been known to scour the pages of fashion magazines for ideas. Sometimes I buy the magazines in the store, other times I subscribe to them for a year or more. Often times, when I flip through the pages, I get inspiration to combine colors, textures or styles in a way I hadn’t thought of in the past.

I’ve known for years that fashion magazines are filled with unrealistic, computer-enhanced images. I know that many models have eating disorders and drug problems and I know that many young women aspire to look like models and therefore become victims of eating disorders, compulsive dieting, body dissatisfaction, drug use, smoking and more. I know because I was one of those girls.

But I figured since I “know better” now, since I’m smart enough to see beneath the surface, that there’s no harm in looking at the magazine for fashion ideas. It was only this past week, after the mailperson delivered a 500 page copy of one of my favorite fashion magazines that it all began to hit me. I sat at the table eating cereal and flipping through the pages one at a time.

I oogled a $500 purse and a $200 pair of shoes. I saw pictures of $1,000 dollar watches. Page after page was permeated with items that would break my bank if I were to purchase them. I realized that I was literally paying money out of my pocket to be advertised to. I was paying for a 500 page manual which might as well have been titled: 500 pages of things you will never be, do or have.

I realized I was paying to look at and read lies. Even though I “know better” on a conscious level, there was still a little girl part of me that wanted “that purse”, “those shoes” and “that watch,” even if they were all incredibly overpriced and sure to wreak havoc on my financial future and my self-esteem.

On this particular day, looking at the fashion magazine wasn’t enjoyable, it was infuriating. I suppose this fury has been working it’s way out over the past few months. There was the time when I saw the picture of Madonna in a Versace ad and it hit me: she doesn’t have a wrinkle or a smile line or crow’s feet. Not one sign of being a mother of two, over 40 and a woman with an incredibly demanding career that spanned several decades. I thought to myself, “that’s impossible.” It wasn’t a jealous or envious thought, I meant it very literally. It is impossible. Computer enhancement and heavy duty make-up is the only logical explanation for the flawless face I saw.

I decided to put my emotions and judgments in check and get objective about what I saw. I performed an unofficial research project and scanned the pages of this 500 page magazine to get an accurate account of what I had been absorbing mindlessly month after month and year after year. Here’s what I learned: of the 500 pages, 300 were full-page ads. 172 pages were ads that pretended to be fashion advice, party advice and editorial content. Let’s get real, when the fashion advice includes the name, phone number and website of the store and the price of the item, it truly is an ad. About 30 pages of the magazine were not technically ads but they were things like: “This star likes this” or, “This star does that.” Three of the pages were public service ads (I believe this is a requirement). So, there you have it, my 500 page contained 472 ads and approximately 30 pages of “content.” And I’m the sucker who sent the check in to cover the yearly subscription fee.

Now after this informal research project, I was beginning to get a little steamed up. Then, my friend Cindy e-mails me a link to the Dove website (campaignforrealbeauty.com) I go there and watch a 30-second video that shows a sped up version of all that goes into your typical fashion photo shoot. The 30-second video clip encapsulates the hours of time spent on hair, make-up, lighting, professional photography techniques and computer enhancement that takes place before an ad is published or broadcast. When I say the magazine ads are unrealistic and unattainable, I mean it. Because not even the model looks like the model!

So, I’ve made a decision. I am boycotting all fashion magazines. I will never purchase another one again. I will not spend my money on lies and images that lead to self-hatred, deadly behaviors and oppression for women. I know that money is power and I refuse to spend my money on harmful lies that destroy the lives of many women.

I know that my few dollars will not be a big loss to the mega-rich publishing industry but I think it’s important for all women to realize that in a very real way we do not have to buy the hype. I mean that in two ways. We do not have to buy the magazines with our money and we don’t have to buy the lies that reside within their pages. We can also decide to support designers and manufacturers that promote positive images for women. We can choose to withhold our dollars from companies that exploit women whether it’s the model or the sweat shop worker that sews the clothing.

If a full boycott of fashion magazines is not for you, you always have the power to write advertisers when you see images that are harmful or ridiculous. These letters do make a difference.

Now, as far as my fashion inspiration, I decided that if my clothes truly are to be a form of self-expression then I will decide for myself what textures, colors and styles I want to combine. I’m a grown woman living in a free country. I don’t need a magazine to tell me how I should dress.
